            ATTENTION TO SMALL BEAUTIES In
her poem "Little Things" Sharon Olds says, In this beginner's poetry writing workshop we will focus on those moments in our lives which are small beauties for us. Those experiences, memories, dreams, loves, and losses which when we attend to them become avenues of growth and transformation. We will study some contemporary poets, and the poetic elements that they employ: imagery, metaphor, music, line break, syntax, etc., to see how these behaviors contribute to the form and meaning of the poem. We will use their work to inform and inspire our own. Led by Lynn
