THE WOUNDED HEALER
A Soul Approach to Healing

Drawing upon the work of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell and a beautiful collection of slides, this class examines the archetype of the Wounded Healer through myth and image.

There is not a healer archetype and a patient archetype; the healer and the patient together constitute the whole archetype. Within the wounded one is a healer and within the healer is a wounded one.

We will draw upon insights into healing from wells ancient and modern: the healing gods of Greek mythology, the wisdom of the Native American, the healing stories in the gospels, and the modern work of the psychologist Carl Jung. Individuals in the medical and caring professions, those whose lives have been touched by illness, and anyone with an interest in the sacred mystery of healing will find much in this presentation.

Led by Wayne Souza, Pharm.D., L.Ac.
Wayne Souza is a certified acupuncturist with a special interest in mythology, shamanism, Jung, and the spiritual aspects of the healing arts.
