Fifth Sunday of Lent

March 28, 2004

Isaiah 43:16-21
Phil 3:8-14
John 8:1-11

Scripture
"Jesus simply bent down and started tracing on the ground with his finger."
Reflection
I might not be so quick to pick up a stone to throw at the woman caught in adultery, but I sure would be likely to throw stones or words or negative energy at those who were so fast to judge and condemn. Could I ever be as calm and tranquil as Jesus? Could I ever be as patient and just wait for folks to realize the errors of their own ways? Looking at Jesus tracing on the ground, can I learn to invite others to be their best selves, or am I too busy judging and condemning those who would throw stones?
Mantra
Nor do I condemn you
