Second Annual Celebration of Advent

Deep in our bones
is a fear of the loss of light,
inherited from ancestors
who established elaborate rituals
to celebrate each year
the return of the light
at winter's darkest hour.

Now Angela Center adds to the solstice ritual with our second annual celebration of Advent at Brescia Hall, Sunday Nov.28, 2004, 3 to 6 p.m. (program at 4 p.m.) presented by staff, faculty, and friends of Angela Center.

Advent is a time of getting ready: for the new light, for a new birth, a new year. It's a space where we move between one reality and the next. If we approach the holidays with a sense of space and time, and let ourselves move into our own deepest sense of the season, we may find the holidays take on a purpose beyond our old expectations. We can have less stress and more meaning, less duty and more delight.
The program is at 4 p.m. Come early and stay late for conversation, refreshments and a holiday boutique where you can purchase local and original cards, photos, books and other art pieces. Presenters will be poets, storytellers, and musicians and the artists who display their crafts.

Here are some of the presenters that you will enjoy on the 28th: Geoff Wood, Clare Morris, Nancy Richard, Donna Hardy, Linda Delgado, Russ Dieter and the Gracekeepers.
