Scripture |
"Lord,
how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?" |
Reflection |
When
wronged, our first task is to experience the pain and anger of what
was done to us. After all: our integrity has been compromised, our
boundaries invaded, our space sullied. But if we get stuck in that
pain and anger, if we say to our self and to the world, "I can
never forgive this," then we end up with a burden seventy times
heavier than that of the offender. We do better to let go, align ourselves
with a forgiving universe; free the wrongdoer, free ourselves. The
process is called forgiveness. It goes way back. |
