Betrayal is the dark brother of love. They eat together and walk
the roads of their days with each other. The heart that would learn the ways of love will bleed at betrayal's too frequent visits. Despite our best intentions, love wounds. An ancient Greek saying, attributed to the Oracle of Apollo at Epidaurus, proclaims:

God sends the wound.
God is wounded.
God is in the wound.
God heals the wound.
