Isaiah 50:4-9

Matthew 26:14-25

Scripture
"Surely it is not I, Rabbi?"
Jesus answered, "It is you who have said it."

Reflection
Such a God, such a love, goes far beyond what is comfortable, let alone ecstatic. It may approach a glimpse of Agape, the love that gives all for no reason but itself.

No one who risks love can avoid eating meals with that which
misunderstands, grows jealous, deceives or disappoints. Each of us
brings both betrayal and compassion to the daily bread's breaking that is relationship. We cannot do otherwise. We are as we are and we love as we are. Such love includes something of Jesus, something of Judas.
